Birthday parties are not held at school.  Instead we celebrate each child's birthday in a very unique Montessori manner.  The birthday child holds the globe of the earth and walks around "the sun" ( a lighted candle) once for each year of his/her life. As the child walks, I read something about the child and show a picture for each year of his/her life.  I ask that you send in a picture from birth and continue with one-year intervals to a current photo.  Photos will be returned.  Please send in a short narrative of your child's life along with the pictures.  This may include family members, pets, favorite toys, special trips, etc. 

You and your child may wish to bring in a special snack for that day.  Please be sure that it is healthy.  We can not serve cupcakes, cake or any sugary treats.  Muffins, popsickles, fruit , etc. will be acceptable.  Please keep in mind that healthy snacks can be just as delicious and they give a positive model for eating well.  Birthday invitations may be distributed in school when the whole class is being invited.
